My 2023 Goals

Happy New Year everyone! Last year was my first real-time sharing a post like this but I wanted to do it again this year because it did keep me a little bit more accountable. This year instead of setting resolutions I decided to set goals, I’m not really even sure that those are two different things but in my mind goals sound a little less intimidating than resolutions so that’s what I am going with.

  1. Walk 10,000 steps every single day - I chose this as a goal because I work from home and if I don’t make it a point to move my body, I literally won’t. I really like listening to podcasts and books so walking even for like 20 minutes in the morning will be a good way to get a head start on those 10,000 steps.

  2. Travel five times this year - We didn’t travel much this past year but we are excited to get back to it in 2023! So far we have New York planned for Valentine’s Day and then we are going on a major road trip in the RV in July with my family which we are really excited about. For that trip, our main destination is the Grand Canyon and Sedona but we want to hit many other National Parks while we are over that way with the RV. Other than that we have Germany on our radar and possibly a couple of other spots, we will see but I can’t wait to start planning them soon!

  3. Use the Peloton more days than I don’t each month - I love our Peloton and I also love how many other types of classes that they offer and I want to keep trying new ones. But I want to make sure that I am getting good use of the monthly fee for the Peloton. I feel like if I had a gym membership outside of the house I would make sure that I was going often enough basically getting my money’s worth for lack of a better term and I want to make sure that I am doing that with the Peloton as well.

  4. More time reading, puzzles, and other non-techy activities - I put this one down because over the last few weeks on my “Christmas break” I have been spending a lot more time doing things like puzzles, playing board games, and reading and I have really enjoyed having times where I would forget it was even a thing. This isn’t super strict but doing this also eliminates some of the TV that gets watched which is good for me as well.

  5. Read 10 books this year - Last year I set a goal to read 15 books (I believe) and I didn’t reach it. There were a lot of books that I started and didn’t finish so it messed with the number I actually read. I wanted to set a more realistic goal and I think that 10 is better for me to start with this time around. But when I wrote my initial list I did say that if the 10 are going well that I would add more so we will see how this goes! I will be sharing what I am reading each month as they come along! I think that was another mistake from last year. I listed them out at the beginning of the year and then when new books would come out I would get distracted by those lol so I am just going to take those at a different pace this time!

  6. Whiten my teeth every Sunday - This one is simple and doesn’t take much of an explanation but I think that by putting a day on a simple task that there is a better chance of me actually accomplishing this goal and making it a habit over time which I like the idea of. These are the whitening strips that I use and that I have used for about a year now. I have sensitive teeth and they don’t hurt so I keep using them. Plus I get them on Amazon with subscribe and safe so it just gets delivered monthly.

  7. Eat 1 fruit and 2 veggies each day - I think that this will be easy for me to do, I am honestly already doing it but putting this as one of my goals will make me more aware of it. I also think that it will more than likely end up with me unintentionally eating more anyways. This is more of me eventually setting a really good habit for myself!

Rolling over one of last years goals

I want to go back to actually getting ready each day - I set this as a goal for last year and did really well with it until the summer came around and then I fell off the wagon with it. So I am adding it back in again! For me, getting ready every day would be putting makeup on, doing my hair, and putting on an outfit that makes me feel good! It doesn’t have to be a super dressy outfit but just something that isn’t all loungewear all the time.

I said this last year but never got around to it but I think this year I actually want to write an update post, maybe in the summer or so to see how the goals are going for myself! Did you guys set any goals this year? I would love to hear what they are! You can comment below or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com and I will get back to you ASAP!
