Boathouse Gluten Free Review

Boathouse Gluten Free Review

I don’t even know where to begin with this restaurant because it is THAT good! I honestly want to go here every chance we get but have to refrain so we can try new places around Orlando! I have been here like four times and it is always amazing and the staff is so knowledgeable! They are helpful and almost the WHOLE menu can be made gluten-free! I think this is probably because they are somewhat affiliated with Disney {bieng in Disney Springs and all} but I definitely appreciate it! They aren’t a Disney company but they do a good job!

I will link the menu here for you guys to look at. I will say that one downside is that they don’t have a specified gluten-free allergy menu but all times that I have visited I have had the chef come out and talk to me specifically about my allergy and they have helped me make my decision on what to order! So don’t be intimidated by there not being a dedicated menu!

I have ordered a few different things from here but the one thing that I order EVERY SINGLE TIME is the lobster Bisque. It is freaking amazing and you will literally want to drink a whole vat of it. It’s creamy and delicious and gluten-free! I was so shocked to hear that but it is! The first time we were there we were talking to the chef and he was telling us about the process to make the bisque and that it was thickened with rice! Who knew?! Dustin and I actually tried to make a copycat recipe at home and it wasn’t perfect but we will try again for sure!

They do offer a “gluten-free” roll which is really just like a burger bun that is warmed up? Idk, I’m not picky so I just ate the carbs with a smile on my face! Haha. Other than that I have had the Filet Mignon Sliders and they were really good. I will say that I wish it had a sauce but it was tasty on its own and then I had a side of baby potatoes. Another time I went I had the Grilled Mahi Tacos which were also delicious and then lastly I have tried the Mahi Mahi sandwich on a gluten-free roll and omg YUMMMM.

Jersey Mikes Gluten Free Review

Jersey Mikes Gluten Free Review

So with this restaurant/sub place, I had always heard of it but had it once when we lived in Minneapolis and I wasn’t a huge fan but I think it is because I didn’t order the right thing and I was overwhelmed with the options on the menu. Lol. BUT, since moving to Florida and testing out all of our options again it is now one of my favorite things to order. I think going two years without any choices when it came to subs, I was THRILLED when I found out Jersey Mikes has gluten-free bread.

I will link the menu here for you guys to look at. Again, I took this straight from their website so at first when I was ordering I trusted it. I also have had this sandwich more times than I probably should admit but more than 10 times and I have never gotten sick from Jersey Mikes!

So I have only ordered two different sandwiches from here but if you have a gluten allergy, you probably feel the same way when it comes to trying new things… I get so hesitant because I don’t want to get sick at all! The sandwich that I have ordered the majority of the time is the “Turkey and Provolone” I like to add mayo, mustard, salt, oregano, lettuce, and onions and then get double cheese. When it gets to my house I usually add pepper and Italian seasoning… just try it! The other sandwich that I have tried and really liked is the “Club Sub” which is ham, turkey, bacon, and mayo! I just ordered that one as is and it was good!

Have you been to or ordered from Jersey Mikes yet?! I would love to know what you ordered and if it was good! Also, what do you order?! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com! You can also comment below and I will get back to you!

On The Border Gluten Free Review

On the Border Gluten Free Review

On the Border Gluten Free Review | Orlando Gluten Free Eats | Taryn Into Travel | Restaurant Reviews

This is the first of many reviews for gluten-free foods that I have tried here in Orlando! These blog posts are going to be short and sweet and to the point! Basically, my plan for these smaller blog posts is to share what I ordered from the restaurant, possibly the options that I had, and if I got sick or not! OH, and of course if the food was good/would I order it again!

SO without further ado, I will get to it! On the Border is a restaurant that I have heard so much about. I think it because it’s not really a thing in the north?? Idk. But I really wanted to try it!

Here is the menu that I was looking at for gluten-free options. It’s straight from their website so I trusted it. I will say that I didn’t get sick which is great!

Let me just start with the queso… I thought it was very good! I felt like the creamy to runny ratio was SPOT ON. The one downside was that their chips weren’t listed on the gluten-free list. So I used my own but it was still delicious. So if you are going to order just make sure you have your own chips so you can enjoy the queso!

For my meal, I ordered a grilled chicken Border Bowl and it was VERY good! It kind of reminded me of Chipolte but with less “stuff” in it. I added some of my queso to it and ate it with chips! We also ordered the Chicken Street Style Mini Tacos and they were very good as well! I had one and it was tasty. They came in corn tortillas which were perfect!

In the future, I will be better about taking photos of the food but I wanted to make sure I got this review up for you all! Have you been to or ordered from On the Border yet?! I would love to know what you ordered and if it was good! As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com!
