I figured that it had been a little while since I shared my recent Amazon finds and I think going forward I will do this like once a month because ..well.. I buy a lot of things from Amazon haha. I will break everything down below!

  1. Mikes Hot Honey - This is something that I was totally influenced to buy and I am so glad that I did! I feel like I saw 100 people share this hot honey and I think it is amazing! We have used it once and we put it on our chicken and waffles that morning and DANG they were good! It has a serious kick! You can also put it on things like pizza, fried chicken, ice cream, desserts. It lists a ton of things to add it to!

  2. Black Rimmed Sunglasses - I love these, they will be perfect for the beach! I wrote a whole post on all of my favorite sunglasses that you can read here!

  3. Brown and Gold Sunglasses - Another inexpensive pair that I wear to the beach that I can take in the water and not be so sad if they get lost!

  4. NorthFace Sweatshirt - This is nothing new but this sweatshirt is Dustins new favorite thing to wear! He has four and wears them basically in rotation lol they are very comfortable! You guy have probably even seen me wearing them in my stories!

  5. Popcorn Butter and Salt - I saw this on DeDe’s stories from Dress Up Buttercup and pretty much instantly bought it! I loved really buttery and salty popcorn so this was perfect for me! If you’ve been around for a long time then you know that we love our popcorn! I buy it in bulk and often lol its the best snack!

  6. Eye Brow Pencil - I have been testing a couple of new eye brow pencils over the last month or so and this one is my favorite so far. I love the shape of the spooly and the pencil! The spooly helps me to shape my eyebrows and I also really like the shape of the pencil. Plus its less than $6 and gets delivered to my door! I have the shade blonde!

  7. Bio Oil - This is supposed to help with stretch-marks. I have them all over but more recently in my life I have them on my legs and I am trying to reduce the dark color. I have seen this a lot on instagram and I decided to give it a try. Along with like 4 other creams and oils. SO I will keep you guys posted on if I like it or not!

  8. Clear Bags - So this was a small project that I decided to take on a few weeks back. I saw someone on Instagram that had taken all of her board games out of the box and put them each in one of these bags. I really liked the way that it looked so I decided that I was going to do it too! I really like how much space it saves and there aren’t a ton of bulky game boxes somewhere in our apartment!

Five Meal Delivery Services Reviewed

www.tarynintotravel.com | Five Meal Delivery Services Reviewed | Blue Apron | Home Chef | Hello Fresh | Every Plate | Freshly |

Grab your popcorn because this one is wordy. lol This was SUCH a fun review for us to do. I think it’s because Dustin was doing them with me and I was able to have confirmation on how I felt about each of them! We tried five different meal delivery services over the last six weeks and let’s just say we have some thoughts. Some were really good, some..one.. was REALLY not that great. I feel like there are only a couple that are out there that are commonly talked about but there are a TON to choose from and even then we decided to choose just five.

Gluten free info: Only one of these meal delivery services was gluten free and it was actually our least favorite but I will get into that in a minute. Some delivery services made it easy for me to modify things to make them gf, others didn’t. If they sent burgers I would just use my own bread. If they sent pasta, I would use my own noodles. It is something that is normal in my life so I just never thought anything of it!

I am going to list them from our least favorite to our favorite!

  • Freshly - This was sadly our least favorite but we REALLY wanted to like it because it is SO convenient and all of the meals we chose were gluten free! The whole gimmick with this meal delivery service is that all of the food is microwaveable. There is no cooling required. The meals weren’t horrible but they definitely were still microwaved and we could definitely tell. We even plated the meals on plates after they cooked to get the effect that they didn’t just come out of a microwave which didn’t really help. Another downside was they pretty much offered the same meals each week with maybe switching up a few. It was fine for one week but not something we could ever do for weeks at a time in a row. It was also weird because we both ate something different every night. We got Freshly delivered on Saturday. After the promotional sign up cost would have expired, we would be paying around $50 plus shipping for 3 meals.

  • Hello Fresh - This was the meal service that got this whole review started. I signed up for Hello Fresh before I realized that I was signing up for Hello Fresh. Lol I was trying to look at their meal options and thought I was just setting up my account {my mistake, I should have known when I entered my card} but I had actually been setting up my first order. So watch out for that! The second thing about this service is that they have a ton of options but the really good meals are an additional cost! Which is frustrating, I would rather pay for a higher level subscription than pay an additional $5.99 per SERVING. Besides that hidden fees, we did enjoy the meals! But it was pretty expensive. Like VERY expensive. We paid $79.91 for 4 meals for two people. Safe to say we canceled that as soon as we got the meals. We couldn’t justify the price for what we were getting.

  • Blue Apron - It was a good meal delivery service. Honestly the meals were either really simple and its something we already knew how to make or really extravagant and wasn’t something we would enjoy eating. The food was good and it was really fresh! The meals were easy to make but it’s not something I would continue to pay $60 a week for. After the promotional sign up cost would have expired, we would be paying around $59 plus shipping for 3 meals. Blue Apron will deliver based on your area but for us it was Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. One plus with this service is that you don’t pay shipping with this one. But the other services are less a week with shipping.

  • Home Chef - So this service was really good. I had a hard time choosing if I thought Blue Apron or Home Chef was better and they really were neck and neck. With this one, I don’t really know how to put this but the meals were just kind of …blah. Like really nothing exciting or life changing. Another thing was that the week that we got meals from Home Chef, we were kind of hungry after our meal. For example one of our meals was a chicken breast and a corn/peppers mixture and we were both hungry about an hour later. I guess to sum that up, they were just lighter meals. Another con, we were going to give it another try so we ordered a second week and only one of the meals showed up which really sucked because we hadn’t gone grocery shopping for dinners. After the promotional sign up cost would have expired, we would be paying around $59.70 plus shipping for 3 meals. They don’t charge for shipping though which is a plus! This was another service though were the meals weren’t revolutionary lol like chicken breast and corn/peppers, steak tacos, nothing crazy.

  • Every Plate - This was hands down our favorite. We actually got it two times. We loved that these meals were easy for us to make gluten free for myself while Dustin could still eat the normal meal! Now I’m not saying that they are gluten free but they were just easier to make gf! If they sent burgers I would just use my own bread. If they sent pasta I used my own pasta and Dustin used what was sent and then we would actually have leftovers! It was nice though because they would use gf soy sauce. It wasn’t like they went out of there way to add gluten tp things. There was plenty of food for us with each meal and we felt great about it because there was no waste at the end of the meal! We liked that you could choose the delivery date. You get to choose to have them deliver on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.. tons of options! This was also the most bang for our buck so to speak. We pay $48.91 for 4 meals for two people. This was the best deal for us! Plus we have the option of getting 5 meals a week! If you want to try Every Plate you can get $20 off your first box here!

Have you guys tried any of these services? I would love to know your thoughts and opinions on them! If you guys have any further questions on any of the meal services shoot me an email and I can answer them for you! I am an open book and always want to help you! Hairitage Hair Line Review

A couple of weeks ago one of you asked me if I had tried this line and I hadn’t! But I am so glad that I decided to try it because I am loving them! They are pretty affordable and are sold at Walmart! All the Products are under $8 which I love. Below I shared my thoughts and review on all 6 of the products that I tried!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Hairitage by Mindy Hairline | Shampoo and Conditioner Review | Dry Shampoo | An apple a day acv hair rinse | Walmart Finds

ACV Hair Rinse

I really had zero expectations when I purchased this because I wasn’t even sure what it was! BUT I absolutely love what this does for my hair! I use it when I am in the shower before I shampoo my hair. So I will get my hair just a little damp and then run it through my hair about 5 times across the top and let it sit while I shave my legs or wash my face! I leave it in for about 3-5 minutes and I love it! it really cleans my hair without making it feel limp/dead. I love that I have added this to my shower routine!

Dry Shampoo

I added this into my whole Dry Shampoo Review blog post a week ago and it actually made my top 5 list! You can read more about that here. But I will give you the facts real quick.  I like how the dry shampoo lasts in my hair and the volume that it gives to my hair. The one downside of this dry shampoo is the initial smell-it is so strong and fills the room. But once the air circulates, it does smell good! I would buy this again for the volume alone!

Hair Mask

I am still testing this one and still want to try it a couple of times but I don’t leave it in my hair overnight like it suggests. I will use it in the shower about once a week. I leave it on my hair for about 10 minutes. I like the results. My hair feels really soft after I blow dry my hair!

Held High Conditioner

This is the conditioner that I have been using more regularly. I really like the way it feels! And I do think that it gives my hair more volume. Or at least sets my hair up to have a lot of volume!

Gentle Daily Shampoo

This was probably my least favorite product out of all of them. Not to say I don’t like it but I really only like using it every other wash. It is a good shampoo but there are others out there that I like more. I find that if I use it every single wash then my hair starts to feel a bit weighed down.

S.O.S. Deep Moisture + Restore Conditioner

I have used this a couple of times but honestly Dustin has used it more! He has short curly hair and likes that it makes his hair softer. I would say that it makes his hair healthier and softer. But like the shampoo he doesn’t use it every wash {he showers every single day at least once if not twice}, he likes to mix it up.

Amazon Bodysuit Styled Three Ways

www.tarynintotravel.com | Amazon Bodysuit Styled Three Ways | Amazon Fashion | Bodysuit | One Top Three Ways | Abercrombie | Amazon Sunglasses |

This post is definitely a little bit out of my comfort zone but I figured what the heck, I might as well just post it! Up until I found this bodysuit I pretty much had written them off. I thought they would never fit my body type and wouldn’t look good. Most of them out there are too short for my torso {trust me, I tried them!} which really sucked and was discouraging. I don’t even feel like I have that long of a torso! But I found this one and it was long enough for me, wasn’t see-through and didn’t show every wrinkle/roll on my body which was great for me! It made me feel confident to wear it!

I decided to share three ways that I wear this bodysuit with you guys! These are simple outfits that flatter my curves and make me feel good about my outfit which is all I ask for! All three of these outfits can be worn for date night, day dates, out to lunch with the girls, pretty much covers alllll occasions! I took a poll the other night when I was sharing my frustrations of all tops out there right now looking the same and the majority of you guys said the same thing! So the nice thing about this body suit is that you can wear it many different ways!

I loved putting together these outfits because I felt comfortable in them! I think I said it a few times in my try on that I felt like I could wear them all day and not get uncomfortable and be confident in these looks all day long. Which was your favorite? I LOVE the second outfit but also the first one is just so cute!!

Plants I Ordered for our Apartment

I feel like I need to write the next sentence in all caps … I am no expert and I literally struggle to keep anything alive lol. But I keep telling myself that this time is going to be different! I WILL keep these ones alive! I did a little but of research to see which plants were easier to keep alive and then after I chose a few I figured out how often I needed to water them and what the upkeep was before I even purchased them.

All of the plants I ordered came from different shops on Etsy! I wanted to support small shops and I felt like they would be healthier. Kind of like when you used to buy goldfish from Walmart and they would die pretty quickly after. That was what was in my head when I bought them lol. Anyways, I chose three plants, four succulents and four air plants! All of them have lived at our house for well over a month and its going well so far! Update: Over the last week since I originally wrote this, one of the plants had a couple of the leaves turn brown… it turns out that I needed to water this one pretty much daily! So I messed that up. You can see in the photos. I am talking about the Ficus Esastica ‘tineke’.

But the other ones are all still alive and I water them all once a week on Thursday morning {I set a reoccurring alarm} and it has worked great! I am hoping once I do it enough I won’t have to keep the alarm it will just be like muscle memory. *shrugs shoulders*

Below are the plants that I bought, I will list them out here!

  1. Sanseveria Hunny Bunny Snake Plant

  2. Sedum Donkey Tail {succulent}

  3. Cassula String of Buttons {succulent}

  4. Echeveria “Lola” {succulent}

  5. Haworthia Limifolia var. Striata {succulent}

  6. Sanseveria Trifasciata Snake Plant - also called the Mother in Law’s Tongue

  7. Ficus Esastica ‘Tineke’

  8. Four Air Plants which are many different sizes, you can shop those here!

See the graphic below to see which name goes with which plant!

Sunglasses for Spring and Summer

www.tarynintotravel.com | Sunglasses for Spring and Summer | Sunglasses from Amazon | Amazon Finds | Mezzanine Boutique

I have the most love love love hate relationship with sunglasses. I absolutely love the look of them! I love that when I wear them to the pool, I don’t have to wear makeup at all! Lastly, I love buying them! The thing that I hate about them is that I don’t have contacts and I am blind without my glasses. So for me sunglasses are a summer thing that I get to wear by the pool! I think its that they are just affordable enough {like in the $12-$18 range} that makes them like any brainer for me to buy. Not only that but I get to try styles of glasses that I normally wouldn’t! But all in all I truly do love them, I just wish I could wear them more often!

I have one pair of sunglasses that are on the pricier side and I have had them for two years! We bought them at a Ray Ban shop in the Mexico airport. It was one of those moments where you like black out and all of the sudden you’re buzzed on a couple of beers from lunch at the airport and the next thing you know you and your husband are trying on sunglasses. We both left with a pair of sunglasses that day and we still have them and we both love them! I will link his as well at the end! I always wear these when I am laying by the pool but when I go to the beach I take cheap sunglasses because drinks + ocean = the chance of losing your sunglasses in the water!

Anyways! I will quit rambling and story telling and share with you the ones I like! Most of these are from Amazon but a couple of pairs are Target! I like to watch Target for sunglasses sales because I feel like starting now through the whole summer they have sales on them all the time!

Dry Shampoo Review

www.tarynintotravel.com | Dry Shampoo Review | Drugstore dry shampoo | honest reviews | Dry Shampoo | Testing Dry Shampoos | Hask Dry Shampoo | Batiste Dry Shampoo | Hairitage Dry Shampoo | SGXNYC Dry Shampoo | Dove Dry Shampoo | Not Your Mothers |

Here we go.. after a looooong two months of testing dry shampoos its finally time to share my final thoughts on them! I knew this before I started but dry shampoos are NOT created equally lol but this experiment just made me know this even more. I also learned through all of this that you don’t have to spend $20+ on dry shampoo.. you really don’t. Especially if you are anything like me where you use A TON each time you use dry shampoo!

The way that I am writing this post is to the drug store dry shampoos and then also the more expensive dry shampoos. I did try a few like Living Proof and Moroccan Oil just to get an idea and to compare them all! So if you are interested in those, they are at the very bottom!

Drug Store Dry Shampoo Reviews

9. Tresemme Volumizing Dry Shampoo

Another one that smells really good and its from a trusted drug store brand but it wasn’t for me at all. Not as badly as the Herbal Essence, but still pretty badly made my hair feel like it had hairspray in it! I was so bummed! This one is $4.99 and does smell very fresh but in a weird take your breath away fresh scent if that makes ANY sense lol. I just wasn’t a fan!

8. Batiste - Volumizing Dry Shampoo

I absolutely love this brand, its the brand of dry shampoo that I have purchased over and over again. But when I bought all of these dry shampoos initially I hadn’t seen the VOLUMIZING kind yet so I decided to give it a try. It wasn’t for me, much like the Not Your Mothers, gave my hair too much grit when I was just trying to give my hair a refresh. And honestly, I don't feel like it gave my hair anymore volume than it already had. Its at a higher price point for these drug store options at $7.29.

7. Hask Chia Seed Dry Shampoo

This was a new brand to me but the brand was recommended by one of you guys so I decided to give it a try! I bought two different kinds from this brand and the Chia Seed was just kind of meh. I didn’t love it but didn’t hate it. The smell was okay but nothing special. I also had to reapply it later on to give myself a refresh which would suck if I worked in an office. It is affordable - its $4.79! Hint hint - I like the other kind from this brand more!

6. Not Your Mothers Dry Shampoo

I LOVE the smell of this one, I really do! I think if you have thicker hair that can handle a little more grit then this one could be a really good option for you! It didn’t so much hold like a hairspray but it made my hair feel more like I had texture spray in it rather than dry shampoo. I have pretty thin/fine hair and it just wasn’t good for that! If you do have thicker hair, it is affordable- only $4.97! I do know that a ton of people like this option though!

5. Dove Dry Shampoo

I was PLEASANTLY surprised with this product. I really purchased it expecting it to be number 9 or 1 on my list but honestly it was tied for 4th! It smells amazing, doesn't leave a residue and it lasts all day long! Which pretty much checks off all of the boxes of mine when looking for a dry shampoo. Another plus is that is is $4.89. The only downside and what made it 5th and not 4th was that it takes a lot of product, like I used it for 4-5 days and the can is pretty much gone. I maybe have one more use in the can.

www.tarynintotravel.com | Dry Shampoo Review | Drugstore dry shampoo | honest reviews | Dry Shampoo | Testing Dry Shampoos | Hask Dry Shampoo | Batiste Dry Shampoo | Hairitage Dry Shampoo | SGXNYC Dry Shampoo | Dove Dry Shampoo | Not Your Mothers |

I added this one into the mix just about two weeks ago and it is the last one that I tested, I am so glad that I tried it! This is another product that one of you guys picked out- I am actually currently trying this whole line and LOVING it! I like how the product lasts in my hair and the volume that it gives to my hair. The one downside of this dry shampoo is the initial smell-it is so strong and fills the room. But once the air circulates, it does smell good! It costs $7.94 and I would buy this again for the volume alone!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Dry Shampoo Review | Drugstore dry shampoo | honest reviews | Dry Shampoo | Testing Dry Shampoos | Hask Dry Shampoo | Batiste Dry Shampoo | Hairitage Dry Shampoo | SGXNYC Dry Shampoo | Dove Dry Shampoo | Not Your Mothers |

I love this one! It smells SOOO good, like citrus-y! I think the reason that I like this one over the other option from this brand is that this one is purifying, it actually feels like its cleaning my hair and not putting a ton of product into my hair. It actually says that it is oil absorbing which is really helpful on day 4-5 hair! It would also be really great for after a gym session! Its super affordable at $4.79 and I would definitely purchase this again!

www.tarynintotravel.com | Dry Shampoo Review | Drugstore dry shampoo | honest reviews | Dry Shampoo | Testing Dry Shampoos | Hask Dry Shampoo | Batiste Dry Shampoo | Hairitage Dry Shampoo | SGXNYC Dry Shampoo | Dove Dry Shampoo | Not Your Mothers |

This was my number one dry shampoo for like the last 4 years! I love this stuff and buy it over and over again. I feel like the bottles last a long time and not a whole lot of dry shampoo is needed to achieve clean hair. This is a travel sized bottle but a normal size bottle is $6.49. I Love the original and the tropical scent. They all smell great to me! I think that people with darker colored hair have problems with this dry shampoo because the white color that comes out but it blends right into my hair and you can’t tell once you massage it through my hair.

IMG_4373.JPG

I have NEVER heard of this product before this review and it seriously bumped my tried and true dry shampoo from number one to number two! I was initially drawn to this one by the pretty bottle but wow its good! When I have this in my hair it feels fresh and clean again without the feeling of having product in my hair! I can’t believe how impressed I am with this dry shampoo. Its smells so good and its $6.99! There is no residue when its sprayed which is one of the reasons why it took number one because I think this is better for more hair types and colors!

Higher Priced Dry Shampoo Reviews

I only tried three of these because they are pricey and honestly I don’t plan to buy them again. I feel like there are enough people out there ranting and raving about these three and I only tried them to have something to sort of compare the others to! I tried the Living Proof Dry Shampoo, Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo and the Pureology Dry shampoo.

3. Pureology Dry Shampoo

I seriously wouldn’t waste your money on this product…. Am I allowed to say that?! Haha I don’t know what I expected but for $28.00 for a regular sized can of dry shampoo I expect it to make my hair all shiny clean and new again. And it really didn’t.. at all. I don’t even think it smelled that great.

2. Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo

I thought this dry shampoo smells SOO good. It’s $26.00 for a regular sized can and it’s an alright product. It worked well and that is great but still too much for me to buy it again. It made my hair look and feel nice but I just have about 5 more drugstore dry shampoos that I would purchase before this one.

1. Living Proof Dry Shampoo

This truly is a great product and I can see why it is popular. It doesn’t really feel like you have anything in your hair when you use this dry shampoo which is nice! Its $25.00 on Amazon which is nice to have it delivered with free 2 day shipping but other than that I really feel like I would buy the SGX NYC Dry Shampoo and the Batiste Dry Shampoo over this one in a minute! It smells good as well!

I can’t even believe that we will be in the month of MAY this week! That just blows my mind. But then on the other hand, Christmas feels like it was six years ago lol so idk. But We are about two weeks out from Mother’s Day and I am going to be on top of it this year. I feel like usually I remember a few days before and then SCRAMBLE to figure out what I am going to do.

Some of these things my mom or mother in law already have and love, and I will point them out to you. I will just jump right into it! The Ray-ban sunglasses, both my mom and myself have them! We love them and they are such good quality. The Kendra Scott necklace is one that I have had for years and the quality has held up so well. They are $50 each and will last for such a long time. I love how dainty it is! Another thing that both my mom and mother in law like is this hair straightener/dryer. I initially got it for Christmas and then got one for my mom for Christmas and when my MIL tried it while she was here she loved it! Its definitely a favorite!! As for other things I have noted on the image whether it is something that I have and love or if its something that someone else has!

Cranberry Peach Cocktail

www.tarynintotravel.com | Cranberry Peach Cocktail | Frozen cocktail | Peach drinks | Drinks for the summer | Refreshing beverage

This is hands down my favorite drink to make at home! Its so easy I honestly probably didn’t need to write a whole blog post on it but I wanted you guys to have an easy place to reference it so here we are! I promise to keep this short and sweet and to not talk {write..?} your ear off. Its so simple, its just three ingredients and one of them is OPTIONAL!! Like seriously, so easy and so yummy and it doesn’t really even taste like you are drinking alcohol but boy let me tell you.. you are!

I feel like vodka is at the bottom of most peoples alcohol lists {probably because of college lol} but because I can’t have a lot of alcohols because they contain gluten - I usually reach for vodka rather than tequila. But I think that this combination of ingredients really makes it seem like you aren’t drinking vodka at all.. just trust me! The holy grail of this drink is the juice that you mix it with.. I find it at Walmart, Target.. Market Basket, I pretty much can find it anywhere! But lately I have been ordering the juice from Walmart.com and its like $5.98 for two of them!

I like to make this drink two ways, regular and frozen. I will make it frozen in the summer as a way to cool off! I like to bring it frozen when I go down to our pool in the summers because it will stay cool longer and that means fewer trips to the apartment and more relaxing time!

What you will need for this Cranberry Peach Cocktail:

  • 1-2 shots of vodka

  • Frozen Peach chunks {optional}

  • Ocean Spray White Cranberry Peach Juice

  • Ice

I would absolutely love to know what you guys think of this drink! It is hands down my favorite! But I would also love to know what is your favorite drink?? Dustin’s is a Whiskey Sour and mine is this Cranberry Peach Cocktail! Let me know yours in the comments below! And if you make the drink tag me in stories and I will share it!

Caramel Macchiato Three Ways

A few weeks back I was realllllly wanting an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks or really anywhere that could make me one at that point lol but our closest Starbucks is in a Target and closed so that just want going to happen. SO I started playing with the ingredients that go into a macchiato and came up with three versions of the caramel macchiato! I did a regular iced caramel macchiato, a hot caramel macchiato and a healthier version of an iced caramel macchiato. The majority of this explanation of these is in the video at the bottom of the screen but I wanted to type out the instructions and ingredients that you will need just in case you don’t have time to watch. But really its only like 5 minutes!

Iced Caramel Macchiato

  3. Add ice to the cup {the cup should be about 3/4 full now}

  5. Drizzle caramel syrup on top

Healthy-ish Caramel Macchiato

  1. Fill the bottom of the cup with the Skinny Syrup Caramel

  2. Fill half of the cup with milk and stir the milk and Skinny Syrup until combined

  3. Add ice to the cup {the cup should be about 3/4 full now}

  4. Add two shots of espresso

  5. Taste to see if you would like to add more Skinny Syrup- if you do, only add a little it at a time! Too much can really ruin the taste of the coffee so just be cautious!

ENJOY! My favorite way is the non healthy iced caramel macchiato and Dustin’s favorite is the hot version! I would love to know if you make this and if you do which version was your favorite?!
