All Things October and Halloween

I know I am a couple of days early but I wanted to round up a ton of the things that I am loving for October! Most of them {about 99.99%} are Halloween things I think you are going to love them! There are a ton of cute sweatshirts from Etsy, decor from Target, hair accessories, and more! I am just going to put them into categories and add then put them in graphics for you guys to shop! Some of the things I have and some of them are on my wishlist!

Other than that there isn’t a whole lot to tell you about these items, haha I really like subtle Halloween rather than oranges, greens, and purples… especially when it comes to home decor! YOu will see some color in the clothing and accessories but that’s about it! I like black and white and other neutrals for sure!

Etsy Finds

Let me just start by saying WOW, there are SO many creative people on Etsy! I kept finding such cute things!! And everything is just so different. I am always so impressed when I look at things on Etsy.

But Target and Amazon really have some great things and I always love to support small businesses on Etsy! Let me know which was your favorite. My favorite VIPKid Rewards by Level

When I first started with VIPKid I really only had a couple of rewards that I had to offer students. Which in my opinion is smart because you don’t really want to spend a ton on the job until you know if its for you or not! I started with ice cream cones that I made myself in canva and then printed and colored them myself. That was my only reward for the first month while I was still ramping up my bookings Then I found Teachers Pay Teachers and the Target dollar spot and my life was changed haha there was no going back! I bought a laminator and started printing free resources and rewards from Teachers Pay Teachers. Once I had some regular students I started learning more about them and what they were interested in!

I started with mainly level 2 and I think that’s why I have so many for this level! Then later on I taught more level 3s and then went on to get my level 4 and level 5 certifications! Now I mainly teach upper levels but its fun to pull out those level 2 rewards when I do teach them! Now I am just rambling but each level has the main age group and each age group likes different things!

A trick when you are looking for rewards or maybe something that you guys already know about is to look for rewards that have groups of five. This way you can give something new each time you will show a new reward. Remember that every student will be different and make sure to acknowledge their age before you choose a reward. For example, you might have an 8-year-old in level 4 or a 12-year-old in level 2. About 99.9% of the time I give my students a choice between two rewards and let them pick! It’s easy to learn what they like and it builds rapport with them!

Level 2

Level 3

Level 4

Level 5

There are so many free options to choose from and that makes it a lot easier to make a decision when I do want to spend money on a reward! What are your favorite rewards to use when you are teaching? I would love to know what resources you use or where you get them! Feel free to leave a comment below or send me an email at tarynintotravel@gmail.com!

Huge Amazon Roundup!

HELLO GUYS! I have basically been collecting Amazon finds since JUNE! I have so many things to share with you guys so I am separating them into categories and will be sharing then over in my Instagram stories all week long! If you don’t follow me on Instagram you can follow me here! There is a ton of home/organization finds, some fall clothes, and some beauty items as well!

Clothes Finds

  1. Green Mock Neck Sweater - I ordered this one last minute and it will be in on Wednesday! But I will try it on in stories and then report back here with my final thoughts on it!

  2. Color Block Sweater - This sweater is SO cute and so cozy. I bought it on a whim just to see if I would like it and it was my favorite thing from the whole order. I love the color block detail but I like that it doesn’t cut you off at a weird spot with the color blocking. It probably fits true to size, but I got an XL just to have that extra length. I wanted to make sure that I could wear it with my Spanx.

  3. Rust Orange Plaid Button Up - I went back and forth with this top! At first, I didn’t like it right when I pulled it out of the bag because it wasn’t the material I was expecting at all. I thought it was going to be a flannel but it is a dressy button-up. BUT, I do like it! I decided it could be worn with black jeans and booties and a hat and be so cute!! Definitely keeping it. I sized up to an XL for a more oversized fit.

  4. White Knit Sweater - I tried this sweater in green about two years ago and ended up returning it. I decided to give it another try and to size up this time because people were still raving about it. I am so happy that I reordered it because I love it now! Its a cozy material and cute with shorts or jeans {depending on where you live}. As I said, I sized up to an XL and happy that I did that.

  5. Pink Drawstring Shorts - These were an impulse buy where I swiped up on someone’s link. I love how casual these shorts are and I actually bought them to wear with my Blondie Tee from Inspired Boutique. These shorts are super cute and can be dressed up or down!

  6. Yellow Floral Dress - Again I love this dress and this print of it so much! I also sized up to an XL in this one for the same chest issue as the black one. I think this one could be taken from Spring to Summer into Fall!

  7. Black Floral Dress - I LOVEEEE this dress! I love the way it fits and how flattering it is. It can be taken from Spring into Fall no problem. I did size up to an XL because I got a Large and it was way too small for my chest. If you have a smaller chest I would get your normal size and you should be fine.

  8. Mustard Yellow Dress - I was hesitant with this dress when I ordered it because I wasn’t sure how it was going to look in the chest area. It was either going to be perfect or it was going to hit in the middle of my chest and look really weird. But it ended up looking great! It’s a more still material but I like that because the dress keeps its body/shape. It doesn’t hang down on your sides. The only thing I will say is that you will need to steam it between each wear. But if that doesn’t bother you then you are set!

Organization Amazon Finds!

Who knew when we moved into our house that I was going to want to organize everrrrrrrything in here?! I guess maybe I knew? haha I love it when everything has a place and everything is in that place or I actually have a hard time getting work done! Are you this way? I know a lot of people in my family who are the same way. Anyways, I’ve seen every blogger out there organize their house with things from the Container Store and I juuuuuust can’t afford to do that. I got 99.9% of our organization items from Amazon for a much prettier price.

  1. Spice Jars with labels - these were a great find! The premade labels had about 90% of what I needed and then I was able to use the blank circles and fill in what I needed. These were things like everything but the bagel seasoning and extra salt and extra pepper labels!

  2. Candle Warmer - This is a candle warmer and it does work great for that but I mostly use it for my coffee in the morning! When I teach I sip on the same cup of coffee for about four hours and it tends to get cold. When I use this I get to have hot coffee the whole time I am teaching!

  3. Egg Carton - We had one of these when we lived in Boston but somehow it got cracked in the move! We eat a lot of eggs so we got the one that holds 18 but they also have options that hold 12 eggs!

  4. Steam Mop - This is a more recent purchase but I really do love it! It’s great that I can really get my floors clean without using a ton of chemicals. That always makes me nervous with the pups! It gets so much off the floor, you will seriously be disgusted by what it pulls up!

  5. Lazy Susan - I actually use this one for our alcohol bottles… You can use them for pretty much anything but the bottles are heavy enough so the sides aren’t needed on the lazy susan!

  6. OXO Pop Containers - We have a TON of these in our fridge. They are pricier but I think they are well worth it. I also feel like I should mention that we have been collecting ours for like three or maybe even four years. We didn’t just go out and buy them all at once. Some have come from Amazon, some from Target or Wayfair. I can even find them at HomeGoods sometime. But I will say the set that I linked you get the most bang for your buck. The last time I went to Target to grab three of them I left with this set because it was cheaper!

  7. Shampoo Bottles - I LOVE these! I shared these with you right when I got them and still love them. I got them for our guest bathroom because there is only a window ledge to set them on so it looked really messy with all the random bottles. But these make the space look so much cleaner and really it’s just more aesthetically pleasing.

  8. Food Labels - I grabbed these to put on my OXO containers and love the way that they look! They had all of the labels I needed!

  9. Glass Bottles - I got these bottles with a pump so that I could put the syrups for my coffee in them! They work great plus they look so cute! I need to get labels for them but they are also just cute by themselves! You could also use them for soap.

  10. Drawer Organizers - These came in handy in our kitchen, especially for our cooking utensils. But we also use them in like our drink drawer and our fast food sauces drawer. Haha these are probably two of my favorite places in the kitchen lol does anyone else have either of these drawers?!

  11. Lazy Susans with sides - This is a different style of lazy susan that I have. I have one in my bathroom for like dry shampoo and different bottles that I have. I keep another one in our guest bathroom where I keep the things that they might need when they stay like toothpaste, face wipes, medicines. If you are curious as to what all is in it you can read the blog post I wrote here!

  12. Chip Clips - This one didn’t make the graphic because I forgot to add it! But these chip clips are a GAME CHANGER. We always had normal clips and they just pop off the bag. These hold the chips in and keep them fresh! We love them.

Home Amazon Finds

  1. Rugs - I have two different sizes of this rug in our guest bathroom and I love how cute they are. I love the tassels and the length of it in front of the shower! In front of the shower I have a 2x4.3 and in front of the sink is a 2x3. It’s definitely more of a cream than a white. For some reason, the photo shows more white.

  2. Volcano Candle - I had no idea that these were sold on Amazon! I bought one from here during quarantine because I wanted it quick and it came in two days! I was so surprised. Usually, I say wait for a sale from Anthropology or Francesca’s but if you’re in a pinch… Amazon has them as well!

  3. White pumpkins - I have these in my entry table in a dollar spot tobacco tray from Target and they fit perfectly! They are a great subtle touch of fall which I love.

  4. White Blanket - I have had this for a very long time and I just got a new one! I ordered a white one to go with our new decor, I used to have it in grey. I actually had it as one of my giveaway items back in December or January! It is a great blanket to cuddle up with. Its as long as I am.

  5. Meyers Acorn Spice Hand Soap - I LOVE THE SMELL OF THIS. It is so good! It is out of stock at both of our Target’s so I resorted to Amazon and I am so happy that I found some. Grab some while you can! Either the handsoap or the dish soap will make your kitchen smell like fall.

  6. Plant Mister - I got this to water all of the succulents that I bought for our house and it’s perfect and holds enough to water all of them. Plus it doesn’t hurt that it doubles as home decor. You can read about which plants I bought here!

  7. Speaker - I just had to add this because we have gotten so much use out of this speaker. We use it in the pool and in our garage when we are working out. I love that it is lightweight and portable. It just connects to your phone and boom you have music!

  8. Speaker Case - I also grabbed the case just to have a place to put it! It’s less than $12 and worth it!

  9. Floor Pillow - I bought this floor pillow for the floor up in my office. I like to put it under my desk so the boys {dogs if you are new} have something to lay on. Oscar {our bigger dog} will put his front paws and head on it and sleeps! Its also cute decor. I think I will get some more of these when I start to work on our formal living room space.

Beauty Amazon Finds

  1. Blush Pink Brush - Honestly at first when I bought this it was literally because I liked the color but now I REALLY like this brush. It’s great because it’s a little more still than a wet brush so it really gets the tangles out but still doesn’t hurt your head.

  2. Makeup Brush Cleaner - WOW. That is all I have to say about this stuff. It cleans my brushes in like .5 seconds and then dries in another .5 seconds. I could actually clean my brushes, put on moisturizer, and then begin putting on my face with the same brushes. I am so impressed with how well it cleaned them. 10/10 recommend!

  3. Benefit Gimmie Brow - I love this stuff! I still use a pencil to fill in my brows before using this to get a fuller look. But if I am just throwing on some tinted moisturizer I will swipe this through my brows and be happy. It looks great.

  4. Sun Bum Tinted Chapstick with Sunscreen - I love to use this stuff when I will be working outside in the yard or hanging out at the pool. It’s great to put on just to make sure that your lips won’t get chapped. That is literally the worst feeling! The color is also so pretty on!

  5. BEAKEY Blender - I saw these allllllll over Instagram, people were saying that they were a great option for a beauty blender and they were right! I love these! I like to use them for my under eye correcter that I use. I also like to use it for powder under my eyes. Make sure you always get them damp!

  6. Golden Star Beauty Tanning Lotion - I have been testing this tanning lotion for about a month and a half. I am so impressed with how good of a product it is. It is easy to apply, it comes with a glove. It smells so good, I think it smells like strawberry pop tarts! It doesn’t come off on my sheets and it gradually fades away. I am not left with weird blotchy spots on different parts of my skin which were the thing I was most worried about with self-tanner. I wanted to make sure it didn’t look super fake!

  7. type: A Deodorant - I have been using this deodorant since June when we lived in Boston. I LOVE it. I love that it is aluminum-free and that it is sweat activating. When I start to work out it really starts working for me. Plus it doesn’t hurt that it smells like the avatar ride at Animal Kingdom.. haha. It also is easy to use. It is in like a tube almost like toothpaste that you push up and it comes out the top in three holes.

  8. Brazilian Bum Bum Cream - This is another product that I bought back in Boston. It is just a small container but it is supposed to help with cellulite. I’m not 100% sold on that part yet {I need to remember to use it more consistently!} but I do know that it smells AMAZING. I would recommend it for the smell of it alone.

Summer Inspired Charcuterie Board

www.tarynintotravel.com | Summer Inspired Charcuterie Board | Cheese Board | Meat and Cheese | Fruit | Cheese Honey | Easy Charcuterie Board

Happy Friday you guys! Wow its been a minute since I have build a charcuterie board! I missed it so much and it was great to be back building them. During quarantine I really had no reason to make one just because it was just me and Dustin. I made one back in March but we ended up taking it back apart and eating it just in bits here and there. I was so happy to make this one because Dustin and I actually had it for dinner the other night. I like building them because it is usually a conversation started when I bring them to parties and get togethers. For this one, Dustin got back from the airport around 2pm and I needed to be at the airport the next morning at 5am. So we had this for a little catch up date night! It was perfect, I think it worked for dinner because it wasn’t all meat and cheese, I added fruit and tons of different textures!

What you will need

-Prosciutto

-Salami

-Red Pepper Stuffed Olives

-Cherries

-Blackberries

-Cheese Honey

-Basil {for garnish}

-Small cheese knifes

-Havarti

-Sharp Cheddar

-Rosemary and Olive Oil Asiago

-Everything but the bagel goat cheese

-Brie Wheel

-Swiss Cheese

-Marcona Almonds

-Parmesan Crisps

I always love putting together videos when I build boards because they are so fun to watch! You get to see the progression of the board and really my thoughts as I put it together. Nine times out of ten I change my mind and rearrange things up until the very end! You can see the video below!!

What is your favorite thing to put on a charcuterie board? Mine definitely changes with the season but usually a reallllly good aged cheddar must make it onto my boards. But surprisingly my favorite thing on this one was the rosemary asiago! OMG YUM. It is freakin’ delish. I would love to hear what your favorite thing is on a board. Almay Lipstick Roundup

Back in the beginning of March I posted a photo of all of the lip sticks that I had collected over the weekend from different stores and one of them was my first Almay lip vibes lipsticks. Basically that is where the obsession started and it has only grown since then! I have 6 and love each of them! UPDATE: I grabbed two more from Walmart when I was in Iowa last week. So now I have 8 total but this post was written and photos were taken before I went to Iowa. There are so many good colors and they really are such great neutrals. But on the other hand they do have really great pops of color for different times of the year. I grabbed a really pretty pop of pink “Live Happy”. I will say that I don’t love these for how long they last, they aren’t meant to stay on all day. But I do love that as they fade, its a natural fade and not in certain places on your lips. Sometimes lipsticks leave a weird line on your lips and these don’t do that! They are creamy and glide right on but then stay in place well enough to put a gloss over them if I want!

I have been able to find them at Target and Walmart! They are less than $5 and if you are anything like me they are a bit addicting to buy lol I love that each shade is so different yet so versatile! The one I always gravitate towards is Sleep Later or Go Wild! Which shade is your favorite?? I would love to know! Leave a comment below or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com!

Traveling with Different Airlines During Covid

www.tarynintotravel.com | Traveling | Traveling During Covid | Airline comparison | Weekender bags | weekend luggage

First things first I never in my life thought I would be writing a post about this but here we are. 2020 man, its so weird! Anyways, both Dustin and I have had to fly during quarantine and we both had completely different experiences with two different airlines so I just wanted to share those with you.

Back at the beginning of May Dustin had to fly to Florida and then at the beginning of June needed to fly to Iowa and both times he took Southwest. He said that it was great! There was nobody sitting in the middle seats unless there was a family. And he felt far enough away from the people around him and that the plane felt really clean. There wasn’t any snack or beverage service on his flight but that was to be expected! One other thing that Dustin really liked about Southwest was that they boarded 10 people at a time. It helped to spread people out and have a bit more distance between people.

On the other hand, when I needed to go to Iowa over this past weekend I flew American Airlines and every single seat was full on both of my flights. We were literally packed in like sardines. I don’t know if I was so aware Of how close people were from being in quarantine so long or if that is how it always is but I wasn’t a fan. Other than that my flight felt clean and like it had just been cleaned. There wasn’t any snack or beverage service on my flight either just like Southwest. Which I appreciate because otherwise nobody would have had a mask on. They would have been eating or drinking and totally defeat the purpose. With American Airlines they did only let a few rows off at a time which was nice!

Basically if I were to fly again in the next few months I would fly southwest! I feel more comfortable with having the middle seat open in between me and someone else. It also blew my mind how different things were in different states. In Boston, every single person had a mask on and then in Iowa nobody had one on. It’s just interesting to see how things are in different places.

Adult Popsicles Six Ways

I know I have mentioned this to you guys before but I eat no less than 10 of those Ice Freeze popsicles a day in the summer! I felt a lot better when I did a poll and most of you eat them in the summer as well. I mean probably not 10 but you do eat them a lot lol. Over the past few weeks we have been testing different kinds of popsicles.. adult popsicles and DANG they are good! We came up with six that we really like so I decided it was time to share it with the people. They are all really simple and most are 2, maybe 3 ingredients! I’m not even really sure if you can call them recipes! It’s more like… “put these two things together”. It took about 15 minutes to make everything and I love how versatile they are! You really can make it whatever you want. You can get the popsicle bags and funnel here!

I put 2 shots in a 16 oz glass and filled the rest of the cup with the juice {and fruit if using}. Each 16 oz glass made 5 popsicles! You could definitely make them not as strong or stronger depending on what you like and how you want them to taste. But I liked them how we did it with the 2 shots per 16 oz glass.

simply blueberry lemonade & vodka & frozen blueberries

raspberry lemonade & raspberry Smirnoff & muddled raspberries

orange juice & vodka

cranberry peach juice & vodka

watermelon juice & vodka & blended watermelon

fruit punch & raspberry Smirnoff

We’ve had them made up in our freezer for a couple of weeks now and I love having one after dinner! I also took them to the beach one afternoon and they were perfect to cool us off. One other thing I did was empty the popsicle into a cup and then poor about a half shot into the cup and fill the rest with the same juice and its a good way to chill your drink without it getting all watered down! I would love to hear if you guys make any of these! If you have any questions at all I would be more than happy to answer them. Comment below or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com!

Summer Nail Colors I am Loving

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you are having a great week so far. I don’t know if its quarantine or what but I have a new found patience for painting my nails. I have mentioned this before but I usually can’t sit still long enough to do more than a coat or two and nine times out of ten I only paint one hand because I get so board and it seemed to take the whole day. But since having more time on my hands I have gotten better at painting my right hand and it doesn’t look AS MUCH like a train wreck.. lol

One of the things I pin A TON of on Pinterest is nail ideas. You can follow me on Pinterest here! There is a trend right now that is where you paint each nail a different color and I LOVE the way they look! I got colors that I thought I would like all on their own and then a couple that I could mix and match to achieve that look I was talking about! I think that the light blue, green and orange will look really good together. So I will probably start with those and do them all on the same hand. I also got a matte top coat to add to the colors just to be able to add a little change in there! It really makes it seem like there are 8 colors not 4! The matte really changes the look of the nails for sure.

I especially love “Kaf-Tan” and “Precious Cargo-Go!”. I am noticing that I didn’t really go for bright neon colors this year but I really like the ones I did grab. I put together a collage that lets you know which color is which, just to make shopping easier. I will be sharing in Instagram stories as I change the colors separately but I really am loving them all different colors like this!

Father's Day Gift Guide

Happy Tuesday guys! I don’t even know where the time has gone. It feels like Mother’s Day was .2 seconds ago! I wanted to throw together something simple to give you guys some ideas for Father’s Day gifts! A lot of these things Dustin has or we have given to my dad or my father in law!

I mentioned this in stories a couple of weeks back but this North Face sweatshirt has very quickly became Dustin’s favorite thing to wear! He got one for his birthday in April and since then has gotten three more. He loves wearing them to work! He works remote and even when he is in the office it’s very casual. The electric hand warmers are something that I got my dad for Christmas last year and he uses them when he is hunting. One thing that is new to me that I hadn’t seen before was the portable charcoal grill! Its so freakin cute {I mean as far as grills go lol} but its perfect for on the go!

The last thing that I wanted to mention was the gluten free spices that I found. I always have a hard time finding spice blends that are gluten free. Its one of the things that gluten is hidden in a lot so when I find something like this I want to share! They had 6 other types of mixes. Some were seasoned salts, grill mixes, hot & spicy mixes and some other ones!

The Next Chapter: We Bought a House!

www.tarynintotravel.com | We Bought A House | New House | First Time Home Owners | Moving Across the Country | Here we go Again | New Home | Florida | Moving to Florida | Orlando, Florida |

We bought a house! If you follow me on Instagram or get my emails you already know this. I thought it would be fun to talk about the last few months to let you guys know what has been going on behind the scenes. But let me give you a little back story! About a year and a half ago in October we decided that we wanted to move to Florida. We love Disney and visit as often as we can and every time we are there we just feel happy. In Orlando in general, not just Disney! We are so excited for warm weather year round, space and being in our happy place! For those of you who don’t know, we got married in Disney Springs in Florida.

We went back and forth for a year on if we would move down there and rent or if we would move down and buy a house. We were finally set on buying a house but then the coronavirus started. We weren't able to travel and flying there wasn’t an option anymore. We had plans to travel down in July {2020} to see houses. Our Boston lease wasn’t up until October so we hadn’t planned on leaving until then. But SO much changed. With everything happening and being stuck in the apartment one of our main things was that if this {quarantine} happened again in the fall or in the future that we wanted to be in a house.

Lucky Dustin had a coworker who had just moved within Florida and we were able to get set up with his realtor! He truly made this process a breeze for us. He has worked so hard to help us find the right place for Dustin and I and went above and beyond our expectations with helping us from afar. Doing this all remotely was what made us the most nervous but he made our lives easy! I talk to my mom a lot, like twice a day at least and I feel like there was about a month period of time where we talked to him more lol. If you need a realtor in the Orlando area let me know and I will give you his information!

The hard part was when we started finding the houses that we liked. There was a period of time where we would find a house {like 3 IN A ROW} and before our realtor could go see it {i’m talking like the next day} the house would already be under contract. It was really frustrating and we felt helpless being so far away. Not that I think we could have done anything but we just had that feeling. Then the very next day from when our top 3 choices went off the market we found it. This house. The one we are buying. In this instance it 10000% felt like everything happened for a reason and everything just sort of made sense. We found the house and the next day our realtor went to show it to us on video and we put in an offer that night.

Our house had been “sold” or under contract two times before we bought it! Perfect timing! After we put the offer in on the house things started moving pretty quickly. We put in offer in on May 17th and she accepted it. Three days later Dustin was on a plane down to Florida for inspection. This was the one part that we really needed to be there for. We both wanted to go so badly but it wasn’t necessary and we didn’t want both of us to be out and about flying when we didn’t both need to do that. Everything went well with the inspection and Dustin came home two days later. After that its been a waiting game of us waiting to move. We have 28 days and we can’t wait!

I can’t wait to take you through the house and start with completing rooms! Our plan is to do room by room so it will be easy for me to share with you guys. I would love to answer any questions that you have! I have talked to so many of you on instagram that live there or wanted to know more and I love sharing with you guys! Let me know if you have any questions either in the comments or you can email me at tarynintotravel@gmail.com.
